Re: Shairport OS
Thanks, so showing my complete ignorance now, on my windows PC I drop the sos101_of1.img.gz file in the reflash folder on the USB memory stick. How do I go about getting to the interfaces file to make the edit, and reconstruct the .img.gz file to place on the USB drive? I am guessing I can use 7-zip...

Re: Shairport OS
I have been a long time user of the amazing SqueezeOS on Joggler. I have since moved on to Roon, which has proven to be very flexible with regard to connecting to various end-points. I have 3 jogglers which I would like to use as display devices and maybe also airplay devices, as Roon can connect to...

Re: SqueezePlay OS for Joggler
Hi fellow Joggleteers, I've got a question about custom wallpapers. Currently I SSH in manually and copy backgrounds from a USB stick to: /opt/squeezeplay/share/jive/applets/SetupWallpaper/wallpaper However, now I'm up to five Jogglers, I don't really want to do this manually anymore! I noticed tha...

Re: SqueezePlay OS for Joggler
I know I am never satisfied, here is the next challenge... I have squeezeplayer working brilliantly on my joggler, with Wilberforce's port of triodes plugin so all good :) But now would love to be able to change the default vu meter display on 'now playing'. There is some discussion and evidence of ...

Re: SqueezePlay OS for Joggler
That roobarb! I agree with your logic too, I think the way logitech implemented this was more a backward compatibility feature with the classic and transporter range. This is where the concept of pause (stop playing music) and ‘off’ (really a fake standby) comes from. I still have a slight worry tha...

Re: SqueezePlay OS for Joggler
i guess i am a little confused... if this is the correct behaviour what is the difference between 'when stopped' and 'when off' screen savers? All i do know is I have my harmony remote programmed to issue an 'off' to my SB3/transporter players when I hit the harmony 'off' and this sets the hardware ...

Re: SqueezePlay OS for Joggler
Hi roobarb, Has the 'patch' functionality been removed from the current version? I'm trying to add wilberforce's patches (I still have screen blanking issues) but patch returns the following: patch: command not found Any thoughts. This maybe a completely different issue...but I have found that when...

Re: 24/96 Squeezeplay and External USB DAC
thanks for help guys. I have exchanged with John Westlake over at pfm and he said Yes, the USB isolator will solve the issue - appears the joggers AC adaptor is injecting HF noise into your systems Ground... Which is in agreement. I will try different power sockets, also switching over powerpacks. ...

Re: 24/96 Squeezeplay and External USB DAC
Yes I had a buzz with WaveIO, would not describe it as chirping though. I am using WaveIO I2S non isolated at the moment and the noise is on USB power ground, my temporary fix is to connect USB power ground to PE. Later on I will move to WaveIO isolated ground outputs and remove PE. I would not exp...

Re: 24/96 Squeezeplay and External USB DAC
interesting info...
are you running wirelessly or wired
and
are you running into a hi-fi setup where you play are highish volume levels, the 'noise' I am getting is only when my amp gain is up at around 10 o'clock which is fairly loud levels. But annoying during the quiet passages.

Re: 24/96 Squeezeplay and External USB DAC
Should look something like: set timeout=0 menuentry "SqueezePlay OS (Internal) v1.07" { linux /vmlinuz-3.2.23jog1 root=/dev/mmcblk0p2 loglevel=3 ro quiet intel_idle.max_cstate=0 processor.max_cstate=0 idle=poll initrd /initrd.img-3.2.23jog1 } Thanks, tried this, seems to have removed cpu ...

Re: SqueezePlay OS for Joggler
my problem, on stopping/turning off squeezebox transporter the clock does display for about 5 seconds then the joggler goes completely blank. If I touch it the display of the clock reappears, but this is not the behaviour I would ideally like. I have checked all settings to do with screensaver and ...

Re: 24/96 Squeezeplay and External USB DAC
Try disabling power saving on the cpu. Append: intel_idle.max_cstate=0 processor.max_cstate=0 idle=poll to your kernel parameters in grub.cfg. Which will be on the first partition or your usb stick / internal memory. If you use sqpos I believe this will already me mounted at /boot. ok, it is 15 yea...

Re: 24/96 Squeezeplay and External USB DAC
thanks for the suggestions...i have tried two cables, but not sure if either are USB2.0, not sure how I check this...i will try wilberforces suggestion tomorrow. Others have suggested using USB isolator thingy...but would like to try and fix this at source, as the interference is quick significant.

Re: 24/96 Squeezeplay and External USB DAC
hi all, I am getting noise/interference coming through from my Joggler to M-DAC (audiolab DAC)/amp/speakers. Not sure if I missed this originally or if this has crept in with use. Rebooting seems to improve the problem (not completely) but it does seem to get worse with time. I have tried both my Jo...

Re: 24/96 Squeezeplay and External USB DAC
quick note, just tried both the 16bit and 24bit test on the M-DAC via joggler and passed with flying colours!! I have this set-up with a USB2 hub, as I have other USB connections. The clicking I reported earlier seems to have gone, I suspect it was wifi related rather then joggler/squeezeplay relate...

Re: SqueezePlay OS for Joggler
thank Jim. I am not touching the off button. I have set the delay and the when stopped screen saver to my chosen clock. When I turn off the transporter, the joggler reverts to the clock but then after a few seconds the screen goes blank. There is another issue with this joggler, which I doubt is rel...

Re: SqueezePlay OS for Joggler
recently dusted off the 2 joggler I acquired about 18 months ago, and loaded them both with SqueezePlay OS. Much better and more stable then the version I was using a while back on the native OS. Top credit to roobarb! for his amazing work here! I have one unit with my main hifi, and it is currently...

Re: 24/96 Squeezeplay and External USB DAC
Hi all, I've been an owner of two jogglers. 1 fell into disuse. The other running squeezeplay on o2 o/s. Just to display artwork from my Squeezebox transporter. But now have changed my hifi around and found this post. So now sitting in my new listening room with my joggler playing blue is green by V...
