Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & SQPOS)
@sijones Are you in the UK ? Which version of LMS are you using and on which OS is it installed ? ronnie Sorry, should have said: I'm in the UK, running LMS 8.3.0 on piCorePlayer. Running well after some teething troubles cured with the help of this forum. Thanks for those step by step instructions...

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & SQPOS)
The new BBC Sounds plugin on LMS works well with the Joggler and a USB soundcard, but not before editing /etc/asound.conf - if you don't, you'll get an unsupported sample rate error. BBC Sounds broadcasts at 320kbps and 48kHz. Change the sample rate in /etc/asound.conf from 44100 to 48000 (44.1kHz ...

Re: Sudden buffering problem in SqueezeplayOS
Glad to hear it alexis92. I'm not quite out of the woods yet - after running rock solid for a week, my piCorePlayer LMS locked out again today - but slightly different symptoms, no 'buffering' this time, it just half-heartedly played the random mix song for a minute, had a think, moved on to the nex...

Re: Sudden buffering problem in SqueezeplayOS
Breakthrough! After updating to 8.3, the pi-based LMS has been solid as a rock for over 2 days! Many thanks Ronnie, if it hadn't been for your tip about switching branches I would never been able to find that version. I'm going to hold off buying any hardware for now & see how it goes. Thanks e...

Re: Sudden buffering problem in SqueezeplayOS
Ah - no 8.3 that I can see in piCoreplayer - I've manually pushed it to update to 8.2.1, will see how that goes. On the LMS tab page, scroll down to "Select Branch" and choose the Development version. Tick the radio button, and then select manual update ronnie Thanks Ronnie, I'd missed th...

Re: Sudden buffering problem in SqueezeplayOS
Ah - no 8.3 that I can see in piCoreplayer - I've manually pushed it to update to 8.2.1, will see how that goes. Was away form home yesterday and came back to find LMS locked out again, even though no-one had been using Squeezeplay. So looks like whatever happens, is regardless of any streaming. All...

Re: Sudden buffering problem in SqueezeplayOS
I'm on 8.2.0 on this new piCorePlayer installation. I bet the previous server I had was even older. Thanks, I'll update to 8.3, worth a shot. One more thing I've noticed: when I'm playing Random Mix, if I skip to the next track, that can very often cause the rebuffering or an LMS interface lockup. D...

Re: Sudden buffering problem in SqueezeplayOS
Thanks for the replies both of you. My Jogglers aren't synced (I always forget about that cool feature). I'll install Debian Bullseye on one of my spare Jogglers and try that - thanks for the links. I've also been posting about this over on the Squeezebox forum and have been trying a few things - an...

Re: Sudden buffering problem in SqueezeplayOS
Hi Roobarb, thanks for your reply. SqueezeplayOS is absolutely awesome! Aside from the Jogglers, I have a Squeezebox Radio in the kitchen... but we don't really use that in the same way, it spends all day playing internet radio, so I can't honestly say I've spent hours monitoring its performance on ...

Sudden buffering problem in SqueezeplayOS
Hi all - Can anyone help me think through a problem that's suddenly cropped up? I've had the following setup working beautifully for a few years now: * LMS on a raspberry pi, using a piece of software called max2play. Music on a 2.5" USB drive attached to the pi. * SqueezeplayOS flashed Joggler...

Re: Dead Joggler, white flashing screen
So looks like it's to do with the Ethernet connection..? Whatever it is, it's obviously been pretty warm at some point... Anyway, I've now remembered why I gave up on this Joggler a couple of years ago - all my efforts have failed and I think I've tried all the usuals: different USB sticks; blind-ke...

Good point - I never sync my Squeezeplayers, so I hadn't thought of that drawback!

Re: Squeezebox standby display not showing
For what it's worth, if I copy your settings I get the same result: when switched off the clock only appears when you touch the screen, and then only briefly. As a workaround to get the behaviour you want (a clock that's always on show when there's no music playing), how about going back into your s...

Re: Dead Joggler, white flashing screen
Ahem... I have a slightly embarrassing confession to make... Dismantling the Joggler once more, this time on the kitchen worktop where the light is very bright, I noticed something I hadn't spotted before... a bit of the case at the back of this Joggler is deformed - it's obviously been very ...

Re: Dead Joggler, white flashing screen
Hmmmm... no joy. It strikes me that the USB port isn't powering up the USB stick in the first place. You know how you'd expect the little light in the stick to glow as it's being accessed? Not on this Joggler... Here's a barmy idea... could I open it up again and put the reflashing stick in the inte...

Re: Dead Joggler, white flashing screen
Hi Gents - thanks for the replies! I'll try both of those suggestions tonight & will report back. I've actually done both of them before, but that was 2 years ago, no harm in trying again. One thing I can be very confident of is that my USB memory sticks with reflash images are OK, as I have a '...

Re: Dead Joggler, white flashing screen
Resurrecting my own ancient thread with a bit of new info, just in case anyone can shed any light. Recap: One of my Jogglers failed - wouldn't start up, only a black screen with a white flash every few seconds. Wouldn't accept a reflash, or boot another OS from an external USB. Swapped power supplie...

Re: SqueezePlay OS (Version 3) for OpenFrame
Well I've been neglecting my Jogglers for ages, but have just visited the forum for the first time in months, seen this thread and have been inspired all over again. Many thanks Roobarb for devoting your time to this OS. Reckon this weekend I'll be installing SPOSv3 on the Joggler attached to my hom...

Re: Dead Joggler, white flashing screen
I have fixed it by replacing the EFI boot BIOS chip with a Seabios boot chip; booting into XP and writing the old O2 Joggler stuff back to the Gb soldered on chip then replacing the EFI boot Mb chip with the original one. Eeeek! That's probably beyond my meagre skills! Thanks for the continued repl...
