Re: Ubuntu+squeezeserver+Squeezeplay - plea for an idiots gu
Hi Jarv_77, Your difficulty with the selection of the music directory is a classical issue with SBS on Linux System. I had the same problem. I remember it was related to group ownership. You have to modify something whith the way you mount your disk (fstab). I am sorry for not being more specific bu...

Some thoughts about OS user interfaces
Hi, I have been using Ubuntu 10.10 for almost a year now and am mostly happy with my joggler. It is a "Squeezebox Touch"like device that allows to have a music appliance in my kitchen while streaming music to my real Touch in the lounge. User interface is however not entirely satisfying. I...

Re: Playlists on squeezeplay and server
After creation, an entry in the m3u file looks like this: M:\Musique\Cure, The\Greatest Hits, Disc 1\01 Cure, The - Boys Don't Cry.flac I edit them (text editor) to be like this: /media/Musique/Musique/Cure, The/Greatest Hits, Disc 1/01 Cure, The - Boys Don't Cry.flac It's very fast with a "sea...

Re: Playlists on squeezeplay and server
I use Foobar to create playlists and save them using the m3u format. Since I do this with my Windows laptop, I then have to edit the file to change the file paths to Linux style. Then I place the files into the playlists directory I have chosen with the Squeezebox server web interface. There are pro...

Deezer without throttling?
Hello,
I would like to listen to music on Deezer but cannot do it because of CPU throttling (occurs after 30s on the Deezer site).
SqueezeboxServer is running on the Joggler.
I have set thermal.psv=80 in /boot/grub.cfg
Is there a solution to this?
Thanks,
Holmes

Spinning down USB hard drive
Hi,
I have installed Ubuntu 10.10 on a USB hard drive and run Squeezplay and Squeezebox server.
I would like the drive to spin down when it is idle. I tried the Ubuntu power-management settings and HD-idle without success.
Does anyone have any experience or idea on this topic?
Many thanks,

Re: Squeezeplay and Squeezeserver On Joggler
Hi, I drop this post to confirm it is possible to have a SBserver and Play at the same time. I have currently the folllowing set up: - Joggler + USB hard drive + USB sound card + amplified speakers (Creative Inspire T10)+ a mouse, - Ubuntu 10.10 (Buzz 1.9 image) + around 4000 FLAC tracks on the hard...

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Standalone Native and Ubuntu)
Hi, I 've just installed the latest Squeezeplay version (1.26) on a Ubuntu Image 1.9 system. I plugged a USB sound card wired to an Amp and disabled the internal audio system. Squeezeplay plays however through the internal speakers. With Rythmbox the sound goes to the amp. Could someone tell me how ...

Re: SqueezeBox Server Issues
Hi Regor, It is good to know that some people are being successfull in using the Joggler as a SB server. Counting you, there are at least to reported success using a significantly large library. Besides there seems to be 2 working set-ups: - Standard OS (your example), - Ubuntu UNRE OS (http://forum...

Re: Enabling SSH and SCP - New Easy Method
No I am not sure. Is there a way to be? All I can say is that I tried with 5 different USB sticks (3 sticks, 1 SD player, 1 microSD player). 2 of them had been used previously to boot an OS (Ubuntu 10.10 + JoliOS). I placed as well images on one of them, booted the regular OS and displayed the image...

Re: Enabling SSH and SCP - New Easy Method
Hi roobarb!,
I tried this and nothing happened! Then I tried Plug'n Pimp and nothing without success (no mail in my incoming box). Could it be related to the fact I tried your script first?
Thanks.

Re: Joli/Ubuntu OS on USB - more space?
You can use GPARTED (comes with UBUNTU for example or you can burn an image with only GPARTED on it and boot from that CD). After putting the OS image on the stick, use GPARTED to: - increase the OS partition a bit (ex: 3.2gb to 4 or 5 GB) if you intend to install more software, - create a specific ...

Re: SqueezeBox Server Issues
Hi, My set-up is almost working: almost only. I use the Joggler as a SB server for my Squeezebox Touch. The network is PLC based. As I described before for almost all the songs, I have a message displayed on the TOUCH (or SQUEEZEPLAY on the Joggler) stating that it can't open the currently played fi...

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Standalone Native and Ubuntu)
Hi, I have a weird problem with Squeezeplay (Ubuntu 10.10 image with preinstalled Squeezeplay). Most of the time, internet radio is not in the menu. It appears sometimes so that I was able to place some radios into my favorites. When the radio menu is not present, I still can access the favorites ra...

Hi, I 've just bought a Joggler and installed the Ubuntu 10.10 image on a hard drive. My intention is to use it as a Squeeze Box server for my Squeezebox Touch and as secondary Squeezebox unit for the kitchen. My main problem so far is related to sound. The Joggler keeps emitting small clicking-soun...

Re: SqueezeBox Server Issues
Hi Jarv_77,
Did you try to run Squeezeplay and SBS for a long time to check whether it is reliable or not? Are the problems related to flash memory?
I wonder whether one can consider that SBS (and even Squeezeplay) on a Joggler is really usable or just barely experimental.
