Something's gone wrong!!!

Post by Smuppet »

I'm a complete idiot who decided it might be fun to get a Joggler and play, so I bought one from someone on Ebay who said they had never used it (sold as new).
I took it out the box and plugged it in and regardless of whether I have a ethernet cable or wireless, I keep getting the same message after it says Testing internet connectivity:-

"Something's gone wrong. We haven't been able to connect you. Unplug the O2 Joggler then plug it back in and try again. If that doesn't work, check the FAQs section on o2.co.uk/o2joggler."

It is recognised by my router, but is not getting any internet connection.

At present I can only use the Joggler as a clock!

I don't undertand what the forums are talking about when they talk about telnet etc. I have copied a reflash tool, but when I plug the usb into the Joggler and reconnect the power, it just goes through the same routine as if the isb is not there. I've tried this with two different usb sticks.

Any ideas???

I really look forward to hearing from you as I am megga grumpy at the mo!

Best regards

It it a stock Joggler or an upgraded one ?
If you have an internet tab and facebook , angry birds etc it is a PNPIII upgraded Joggler which has details on that thread regarding internet connection:have a feeling an ethernet cable should work regardless though .
If the main start up screen has mailnly blue icons it is probably a stock Joggler
Try and write an image of one of the operating systems i.e Joli os , Mint , Ubuntu etc on the forum to the USB stick and see if that works .
Good luck
Happy Joggling

Try this:

1) Download this file to your PC from ftp://ftp.exotica.org.uk/pub/joggler/fi ... -14.img.gz (230Mb download - unzips to 400Mb so a small USB will do)
2) Extract the .img file
3) Use a program called Win32DiskImager on your PC to write the .img file to a USB stick
4) Insert the newly created USB stick into the Joggler and boot it up.
5) After a bit of USB activity on the o2 or OpenPeak first boot screen it should go through a reflashing sequence (on a blue screen).
6) When finished, it should say 'Ready' on a green screen.
7) Take out the stick, reboot and hopefully you'll have a working Joggler, ready to move onto the next stage
(installing PnP III) ;)

Some people have had to try 4 or 5 USB sticks to find one which works!

Offbeatdave, is there a way you can make your previous post really prominent (no idea how/where mind you). This is exactly the kind of brilliant step by step that i needed when trying to get my joggler working. It would be a shame for it to be eventually buried.
