First, use boot into Ubuntu from a USB stick and use gparted to check that you have exactly 980.5MB of unallocated space on the Joggler's internal memory. Anything less than this and you have a fault with the internal memory. Delete all partitions & click on the green tick. Next, close gparted, open terminal & enter the following lines one at a time:

sudo mkdir /backup
sudo chmod a+rwx /backup
cd /backup
sudo wget http://files.exotica.org.uk/?file=joggler/files/mmcblk0.img.gz
gzip -cd mmcblk0.img.gz | sudo dd of=/dev/mmcblk0 bs=1M

After you're done, close down Ubuntu, pull the power supply for a minute then reboot into Joggler OS. If that doesn't work then there is probably a fault with the internal memory.

errr is that correct?

sudo mkdir /backup
sudo chmod a+rwx /backup
sudo wget http://files.exotica.org.uk/?file=joggl ... lk0.img.gz
sudo dd if=/backup/mmcblk0.img of=/dev/mmcblk0 bs=1M
rm mmcblk0.img (optional if you want to remove the downloaded image from your USB stick)

I'm not a linux person... but if I LS the drive...I see a mmcblk0.img.gz file in the root...I guess on the USB stick...
and the 4th line fails...
as its not in backup...
a) how will that work
b) surely a .gz file is compressed

but Please educate me...!

oops, you're correct. The link was originally pointing to an uncompressed file in my Dropbox account. BuZz kindly took over the hosting but when I changed the link over I didn't spot that he had compressed the image file. So you'll need to uncompress it first.

after the "sudo chmod", do "cd /backup" then the wget, then for the dd you can do
gzip -cd mmcblk0.img.gz | sudo dd of=/dev/mmcblk0 bs=1M

Thanks DWl99

sorry to be a right royal pain
if I read this right... having got the compressed file in to /backup

then the command should be?

sudo dd gzip -cd mmcblk0.img.gz | sudo dd of=/dev/mmcblk0 bs=1M

yields a "DD: invlaid option - - 'c'

have I got something wrong?

sorry I'm struggling...! as you can tell :-)

please read..

hi my joggler became unusable maybe through squeezeplay earlier update or other update in an earlier version of pnp . not blaming pnp . it couldve been through previous other stuff id installed i love the software pnp and its now up and running brilliantly, i check regular to see for updates its something thats become a must. I want to post this previous post here that helped me recover my joggler from death...didnt need to flash
HI ALL HERES HOW I GOT MY JOGGLER BACK UP AND RUNNING>>>> I COULD NOT TELNET INTO MY JOGGLER SO WAS STRUGGLING TIL I RACKED MY BRAIN BECOS EVERYTHING I WAS ENTERING INTO THE TERMINAL I WAS GETTIN ACCESS DENIED AND I AINT NO UNBUNTU OR PC EXPERT I WORKED WITH WHAT I FOUND BY SEARCHING EVERYWERE LEAVING NO STONE UNTURNED..
I NEARLY USED MY JOGGLER AS A DOOR WEDGE COS THOUGHT ITS DAYS WERE OVER..
I USED 2 USB STICKS ONE WITH UNBUNTU ON AND ONE WITH THE DOWNLOAD FROM THIS SITE http://www.gforums.de/juggler/download.html UNRAR AND PLACE ON A DIFFERENT USB STICK
YOU WILL NEED TO KNOW YOUR JOGGLER ISP MINE CHANGED AFTER IT MESSED UP

STEP 1
----------
I BOOTED UP UNBUNTU FROM USB STICK
OPENED UP A TERMINAL IN UNBUNTU TO TELNET INTO JOGGLER (THATS A BLACK BOX YOU CAN TYPE IN LOL) I ENTERED THE FOLLOWING INFO BELOW
MY ADVICE IS ON ENTERING THE INFO IS ALWAYS WAIT AFTER EACH LINE ENTERED FOR THE RETURN MESSAGE TO START THE NEXT LINE ,SO YOU KNOW EACH LINES BEEN ENTERED AND IS OK..

wget http://o2.openpeak.co.uk/firmware/app-o ... eimage.tgz
tar xvfz app-o2flash-26635.8686-S3-f1-reimage.tgz
sudo su
tools/bin/partimage -z2 restore /dev/mmcblk0p2 payload/image.myg
tools/bin/partimage -z2 restore /dev/mmcblk0p3 payload/image.myg
mount /dev/mmcblk0p1 /mnt
cp payload/vmlinux /mnt/vmlinux0
cp payload/vmlinux /mnt/vmlinux1
cd /mnt
md5sum vmlinux0 >>sum0
md5sum vmlinux1 >>sum1
sed -i '3d' sum0
sed -i '3d' sum1
exit

REBOOT JOGGLER

STEP2.
----------------
AFTER JOGGLER SHUTS DOWN TAKE OUT UNBUNTU USB STICK AND PLACE THE DOWNLOADED FILE UNRARED TO THE OTHER USB STICK INTO THE JOGGLER POWER UP JOGGLER AND WAIT A WHILE IT SHOULD BOOT UP, IF IT GETS STUCK ON THE O2 LOGO
GOTO PC AND GET THIS WEBSITE UP http://www.gforums.de/juggler/index.html
THE SITE WILL LET YOU GET AT YOUR JOGGLER via your ISP ADDRESS 192,*** ETC.......ALL BEING WELL YOU CAN UPDATE SERVER ETC AND DRIVER FILES AND OTHER STUFF. IF IT HANGS YOU CAN REBOOT JOGGLER FROM THAT SITE ETC ...
JUST WORKED FOR ME IVE TRIED EXPLAIN HOW I DONE IT BUT TAKE NO PAT ON THE BACK FOR THE GUYS WHO DEVELOPED THE SOFTWARE OR SITES
HOPE THIS HELPS YOU ... WORD OF WARNING I DONE MY JOGGLER HIT THE O2 UPDATE IT WIPED ME OUT BUT REDONE AND NOW BACK UP AND RUNNING OK..
HOPE YOU CAN FOLLOW THIS GUIDE BECOS IT WORKED FOR ME.........

In the latest version of squeezeplay i noticed spotify added. im already a member of spotify and can play sounds free on my pc but this version on squeeze play is mobile version so asks me to pay. is there anyway round it.
Also id love skyfire on the joggler its a far better browser than opera and would possibly run tv catchup who knows. A MASSIVE BIG THANK YOU FOR PNP
Fring would also be an asset or skype. i know that a mic will work in joggler.
Is divx available too ....
