Just a note to all those running 11.10 xubuntu/ubuntu - I advise against letting your systems update. It could work - if you pinned X. but it most likely will break

Is there any chance you could share the kernel source code tree (including config) as the device mapper module is missing which is required for an LVM2 setup I am intending to create using the Joggler?
Re: Ubuntu / Xubuntu for the O2 Joggler.
i link to kernel patches and config on my site - http://joggler.exotica.org.uk/source/ - http://joggler.exotica.org.uk/source/kernel/3.2.16/ being the latest kernel stuff that applies against vanilla 3.2.16 kernel source - I can provide a pre-patched tree if you need it. I'll make a note to include it in my next kernel.
Re: Ubuntu / Xubuntu for the O2 Joggler.
I should be able to build a kernel from the config and patches that are available from that link. I'll let you know if I do have any problems.
Thanks for providing these.

Re: Ubuntu / Xubuntu for the O2 Joggler.
How easy/hard would it be to swap to rt2800usb rather than rt2870sta? I'd like to use Master Mode (to turn these little beauties into wireless extenders using Master mode), but the rt2870sta doesn't support master mode.BuZz wrote:Updates for Ubuntu and Xubuntu released (14/05/2012)

Is it just a matter of doing rmmod rt2870sta && insmod rt2800usb somewhere? Can I edit a hotplug.d file to blacklist the rt2870sta file? I'm kinda reaching the end of my Ubuntu knowledge here!
Cheers!
Re: Ubuntu / Xubuntu for the O2 Joggler.
check out /etc/modprobe.d/joggler.conf - need to comment out the rt2870sta one and uncomment the rt2800usb line. (run depmod after)
Re: Ubuntu / Xubuntu for the O2 Joggler.
Hi, I am running Xubuntu 12.04 downloaded from exotica and I have come across a problem very early on....as soon as I type in any letter using the Florence keyboard the text box, word processor etc fills up with that letter. For instance if I am trying to change the date from 2005 when I go to enter my password and type in j the password box it thinks I have typed in j ad infinitum. Florence looks like it is operating normally.
Booting the joggler off of my old 11.10 Xubuntu is fine so it isn't a hardware problem.
Thanks

Re: Ubuntu / Xubuntu for the O2 Joggler.
Hi Donhulio - I've found using the OnBoard keyboard (under Accessories) doesn't have the same issue.
You can temporarily resolve the issue with Florence by going to the settings icon (The spanner on the left hand side), swapping to "Touch screen" and then swapping back to "Mouse", but to be fair, I found that doing that occasionally provoked a crash in X...

Re: Ubuntu / Xubuntu for the O2 Joggler.
Thanks very much for the quick replies - I will have a look at it tonight when I get home from work.
Re: Ubuntu / Xubuntu for the O2 Joggler.
I would to install pulseaudio for connect to my airport express (http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/apples-air ... untulinux/) but is not possibile.
This is the shell of squeeze play oS
sudo apt-get install pulseaudio-module-raop paprefs
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Couldn't find package pulseaudio-module-raop
Because is not possibile?
Thanks
Daniele
